While it is a Chinese defensive martial application Trevor instructs more towards Traditional Chinese Medicine application for the metal and physical benefits that it brings. It improves correct functional movement for body and mind. DESCRIPTION:On the eve of Winter Solstice come and join us for a rich and special evening of a candlelit labyrinth walk\, meditation and sound bath\, evoking in symbol\, simple ritual\, poetry\, voice and music the movement from darkness to light. The evening is an invitation to connect to our inner light\, the Divine Spirit\, within each of us\, which guides us on our life’s journey. There will be an opportunity during the evening to transition\, as you wish\, between labyrinth walking\, sound bath and meditative reflection using art materials. DESCRIPTION:Community Roots Double Celebration \nGreat Yarmouth & Waveney Mind hosts a festive celebration and opening ceremony at their Community Roots garden to unveil their newly created Peacock Butterfly Labyrinth\, on Saturday 15 December\, 10am-2pm. \nThe event will feature the ribbon cutting at 10am by Mayor of Great Yarmouth\, Councillor Mary Coleman and Philip Eke\, CEO of Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind\, followed by a few words by David Kelf (labyrinth expert and enthusiast) and an opportunity for attendees to walk the labyrinth. \nThe opening of the labyrinth coincides with a festive celebration on site to mark the end of the Wild Haven Project; a partnership between The Green Light Trust and Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind’s\, Community Roots garden space. \nLocal Artist\, Anne Bury\, who was commissioned by Great Yarmouth & Waveney Mind and funded by Hand on Heart through Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ to design and install the labyrinth\, said: “The Labyrinth was inspired by the peacock butterflies that visit the garden. It’s an original contemporary design\, hand scored and hand painted. The scored design of the path lines represents the abundance of willow grown on the site.” \nCaroline Fernandez\, Community Roots Manager\, said: “Spending time in green space or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing. Walking a recovery labyrinth can help your health and wellbeing by reducing stress. It is a chance to walk mindfully with reflection\, contemplation and meditation. Our hope is that it will continue to be a space that our community can enjoy.” \nThe festive celebration will conclude with some willow planting\, cake cutting and festive refreshments. This is a free to attend\, open to all event.
